HOW TO BOOK A SESSION

To book a tarot reading with me, please select your preferred appointment at calendly.com/dam-rogers. Once you have selected a session, you will be guided through the remainder of the booking process. A confirmation email with your custom Zoom link will be sent to you once your appointment has been booked.

If you are not able to find a time on my calendar that works for you, you can contact me directly via email at dam.rogers@gmail.com and I will work to arrange a reading for you outside of my set schedule if possible.

Payments can be made through e-transfer for Canadian clients or Paypal via this site for clients outside Canada. Payments are due before the beginning of the reading.

WHAT IS TAROT

When people talk about “tarot”, they are usually referring to a deck of seventy-eight illustrated playing cards that first appeared in Northern Italy during the Renaissance. The earliest surviving examples of tarot cards date back to the early to mid-15th Century, when flashy aristocrats commissioned richly hand-painted decks as objects of status and pleasure. In the late 18th Century, French occultists published the first pamphlets claiming that a secret knowledge system had been hidden within the structure and images of the tarot deck. At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th Centuries, members of secret spiritual societies like the Order of the Golden Dawn, developed tarot decks of their own. The tarot has been reinterpreted endlessly over the centuries, though key elements in its structure and use of symbolic imagery have remained relatively constant. Many notable artists have created their own versions of the tarot, such as the Surrealists Andre Breton, Leonora Carrington, and Salvadore Dali, the filmmaker Alejandro Jodorwsky, and the sculptor Niki Saint Phalle. 

WHAT IS A TAROT READING?

A tarot reading is an exchange of energy and information facilitated by the use of the cards by a tarot reader. Each tarot reader has their own style of practice, though most readers blend intuition with their knowledge of the traditional story fragments associated with the cards in order to create an experience for another person. People who love tarot readings find that they offer a new lens through which to consider the conditions of their lives and the choices before them.

DAMIAN’S RELATIONSHIP TO TAROT

Damian grew up outside Detroit, living with her single mother and her grandparents in a home of poetry, piano, and art. Both Damian’s mother and grandmother were fascinated by tarot. As a child, Damian loved her mother’s Aquarian tarot deck of rich illustrations, and the two often played with the cards together. Damian also found a Marseilles–style deck in her grandmother’s bookshelves, which she would sometimes examine in idle moments, fascinated by the mysterious woodcut-inspired images. As a young teenager, Damian began to read for friends, a practice she continued for the rest of her life. 

In 2021, Damian opened up her tarot practice when friends started sending their friends to her for readings. She began to connect her approach to writing and to tarot, both acts of deep listening, improvisation, and creativity. 

Damian loves to read for other artists, reading cards for people working on projects, or seeking to connect more with their creative spirit. These readings sometimes focus exclusively on a creative project and practice and sometimes touch on personal relationships or emotional currents surrounding the work. 

Her tarot readings are a practice of artistry, understanding, and intuitive care. People leave her tarot readings with clarity and a sense of peace, affirmed in their artistic journey and with ideas for new paths and possibilities.

WHAT TO EXPECT - Deep-Dive Tarot Reading  Sessions

These 70-minute private Tarot readings are held over a Zoom audio call. When you book on my Calendly page, you will receive a Zoom link with your scheduled time and date. To access your session, you will need to click the Zoom link in your confirmation email. I will read the images of the cards and their layered meanings as well as your energy field.

WHAT TO EXPECT - Focused Tarot Reports

I record these readings in response to your pre-submitted questions and then email you the resulting mp3 files and images of the relevant cards. Though I do these readings independently — there is no Zoom call — clients have been surprised by how deep and satisfying they found their emailed recordings.

Focused Recorded Readings are approximately 30 minutes long. These are scheduled in my calendar to ensure that clients know when to expect their readings to land in their inboxes.

WHAT TO EXPECT - Focused Astrological Weather–Reports

As with the Focused Tarot readings outlined above, I will record these half-hour astrological readings in response to your pre-submitted questions. These recorded readings explore how current and upcoming astrological conditions interact with your birth chart. Your emailed reading includes a PDF of your birth chart and an mp3 of my analysis in response to a specific question or area of focus. I will also highlight key dates to consider for the following month.

Focused Recorded Readings are approximately 30 minutes long. The readings are scheduled in my calendar to ensure that clients know when to expect their charts and recordings to land in their inboxes. 

KEEN IN MIND

Anything discussed in our readings is confidential, and I delete my copy of our recorded sessions one week after emailed you the mp3 file. (Note: don’t forget to download it when it arrives.) This is an exchange of time and deep attention; my goal is for clients to leave feeling better than when they arrived. 

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A ZOOM AUDIO READING

Please ensure that your device can access Zoom and that your microphone, camera, and speakers are working properly prior to a session. Arrange to be in a quiet and private place where you won’t be disturbed during the Zoom call. Please make sure to be on time for your appointment. See Booking & Cancellation Policies below.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Give yourself a buffer of at least five minutes before a reading to clear your mind. Close the door to the room you are in, turn off notifications, and remove outside distractions to the best of your ability. You may choose to dim the lights, light a candle, or simply close your eyes. 

For deepest integration, plan to give yourself fifteen or twenty minutes immediately after your reading to write down the ideas, images, and statements that feel the most powerful to you. Drink a lot of water throughout the day and rest as needed.

Once you’ve received the recording of your reading and the images of the cards, download them both. Keep the image of your cards in your Photos file or another accessible location so that you can open it whenever you want. 

Just looking at the images will help you to reconnect to the energy of the reading. It’s also recommended that you make a note in your calendar to listen to the recording of your reading approximately one month after your session.

BOOKING & CANCELLING POLICIES

By booking a reading, you agree that your payment is non-refundable.

Clients must be 18 years of age or older to book a reading.

All clients must give a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. 

If the session has begun and the client has not appeared within 10 minutes, the session will be canceled. Clients are responsible for paying full price for any appointment that they do not show up for.
