Tarot for artists / tarot for humans

Whether or not you are a professional artist, life is a creative project. I believe in the power of images as carriers of narrative fragments that are able to shift and cohere into an infinite number of stories. I believe in the power of pattern recognition. I believe in the power of chance operation.

Damian Rogers has been working with tarot since she was a kid, when she used to read cards with (and for) her mother. Damian began offering private tarot readings when she left home in the fall of 1989.

One-hour TAROT consults are $150.

Testimonials

I love to read cards for people who are working on creative projects — these conversations sometimes focus exclusively on the work itself and sometimes touch on personal relationships or emotional currents surrounding the work. Life and art are always bound up together and I find that the cards will go where they want to go. Many of my clients are artists — comedians and novelists, musicians and filmmakers, painters and TV producers. This is partly a reflection of my social circle as a writer and artist married to a musician living in a metropolitan city, but I think it also speaks to the way my background as a literary editor and writing teacher inform my approach to reading tarot. I’m interested in the story of your life, I’m invested in the story of your art. Whether you are leaping into a new adventure, moving through the murky middle, or finding your way to the finish line, I’d be honored to support your process with a reading that meets you where you are in your project right now and that feels forward into where the material wants to travel.

Damian’s ability to read not only the cards but the static and forces influencing life in the moment are nothing short of remarkable. Sharing her intense insight she brought light to certain shadows and with that brought me great comfort. Coupled with her in-depth knowledge of the tarot, you’re left with extended dimensions AND wishing she was your new best friend.

I’m so glad for everyone else that Damian has opened up her readings as they are genuinely remarkable. She has a wild and elegant focus, as though calmly lighting up the hidden structures around you, or a new path, or the metaphor you had been groping for. I have really loved the ones I’ve gotten.

Damian Rogers reads the cards with such poetry, vision and clarity—but not with so much that life, or one’s future, becomes already-lived. I always send my friends to her when they are muddled artistically, since she—also an artist—understands what is needed and can give it: can ably draw new lines with the right amount of conviction and flexibility. She clears away the mud in the mind. She is brilliant.

A reading with Damian is next level. Not only is she a gifted reader, but her way with language is a delight. I came away from it creatively recharged, reassured on a deep level and reawakened to life’s possibilities.

Damian is a true intuitive. From the moment we started talking, I felt a mind-meld fusion with her as we tumbled through the various aspects of my life with candour and ease. This is a holistic check-in with a wildly intelligent human who loves what she does and guides you to stop and look at things that you’ve been speeding past. Part predictive, part therapy and completely transformative, I would recommend Damian so highly that I PERSONALLY guarantee you’ll love it or the reading is on me.

Damian is both esoteric and grounded; plugged into her own intuition and receptive to her recipient. Damian’s words are like a river — easy flowing and exactly as they should be. Personally, I cannot decide if the Tarot is a mystical wellspring or a series of prompts for conversations one would not normally have with a friend/acquaintance/person. Either way, it works with Damian. She speaks strongly and freely and I have found nothing but benefit from a reading with her.
